The House of Representatives Passes a Harvey Relief Bill

On Wednesday, the house of representatives passed a Harvey relief bill that calls for $7.85 billion for Harvey relief and a three month extention to the debt ceiling.

The bill passed the house with a 419 – 3 vote and is expected to pass congress later this week.

Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas on Aug. 25 as a category 4 hurricane. At least 71 deaths have been confirmed as a result of Harvey and the economic damage is said to be over $70 billion. Harvey is said to be the worst disaster in Texas history.
