An Attempt To Repeal The Affordable Care Act Failed To Pass The Senate Wednesday

A bill to repeal The Affordable Care Act failed with 45 – 55 votes in favor of the repeal. In all the bill needed 51 votes to pass.

The bill proposed a “skinny” repeal which would have repealed some of the most controversial elements of ACA including individual mandates and Device taxes. The Bill also included a two-year delay on the replacement in hopes that an agreement would be reached before that time elapsed.

GOP leadership is aiming for a vote Friday on the final plan which could include more elements than repealing the mandate and device taxes.
