White House has stated that President Trump will not invoke executive privilege to stop former FBI director James Comey from speaking publicly on Thursday

Earlier today, the White House stated that President Trump would not invoke executive privilege to prevent James Comey from speaking before congress Jun. 8.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated that the White House is looking for a “swift and thorough examination of facts” related to the removal of Comey and investigations into collision between the Trump campaign and Russia.

James Comey is scheduled to speak on Capitol Hill Thursday publicly for the first time since being removed from his position as the leader of the FBI May 9.

According to multiple reports, legal experts say Trump undermined his executive privilege by tweeting about alleged “tapes” between the two.
